Prairie Dropseed
in a mixed border
Though soft and airy in texture, ornamental grasses carry a bold presence in the garden. Grasses used as a screen near the patio can be beautiful as they sway and bounce with the breeze. Smaller grasses can be used in mass plantings as a groundcover; while larger grasses can be used as an accent or focal point. Texturally, grasses are a beautiful contrast, they can provide a backdrop against which other specimen plants can be displayed, like Peonies, evergreens or Black-eyed Susan.
