Slate and Steel

Some projects are defined by a single bold design decision. At Slate and Steel, it's the commitment to a singular palette, dark steel, charcoal stone, and cool gray pavers, that gives this backyard its unmistakable identity from the moment you see it.

Green View's design team built the project around a large rectangular pool with a water slide and diving board, surrounded by an expansive large-format paver deck that extends the clean, modern aesthetic in every direction. The paver surround is bordered by a low stacked stone retaining wall, with river rock planting beds and columnar evergreens providing a refined, low-maintenance edge to the space.

The outdoor living area anchors the upper zone of the property, centered on a dramatic dark steel pergola with horizontal louvered screens and a reclaimed wood accent wall. Beneath it sits a fully equipped outdoor kitchen with stainless appliances, marble countertops, and a built-in bar, all oriented toward an outdoor television mounted to the feature wall. A separate fire pit seating area with Adirondack chairs provides a more relaxed counterpoint to the kitchen and bar zone.
