The Wooded Pavilion
Dark Pavilion, Outdoor Kitchen, Granite Bar, and Large-Format Paver Patio
About This Project
Set against the backdrop of a mature wooded landscape with open golf course views beyond, The Wooded Pavilion is a study in how the right structure can transform an outdoor space entirely. The dark metal roof pavilion that anchors this project does exactly that, providing shade, definition, and architectural presence that elevates everything around it.
Green View's design team organized the project around two distinct zones connected by a large-format paver patio that unifies the space visually. Beneath the pavilion, a fully equipped outdoor kitchen with a built-in grill and stainless appliances runs along the back wall, while a generous granite-topped stone bar with built-in seating faces outward toward the patio and golf course beyond. The combination creates an entertainment setup that works seamlessly for everything from casual weekend gatherings to more formal outdoor dining.
A curved stone seating wall defines the outer edge of the pavilion zone, providing additional seating while giving the space a natural, organic boundary that softens the transition to the surrounding landscape. Stepping stones set into a river rock bed create a secondary approach path from the side of the property, adding a garden element that connects the hardscape to the mature plantings surrounding the site.
The large-format paver patio extends from the pavilion back toward the house, where curved bluestone steps with a herringbone brick landing connect the patio level to the back door. A separate dining area with a rectangular table and seating occupies the middle ground between the two zones, completing an outdoor environment that is as practical as it is beautifully composed.
The result is a backyard retreat that makes the most of its exceptional setting — a space where thoughtful design, quality materials, and natural surroundings come together to create something that feels both refined and completely at home in the landscape.
